Anthony J. Gertz, Esq.
Anthony J. Gertz earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Thomas More College, with a double major in history/political science and accounting. He completed his legal studies at Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Theology from the Athenaeum of Ohio.
After obtaining his Ohio license to practice law in 1972, Mr. Gertz opened his law practice at the Pike Street location in Reading. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. His areas of practice include probate administration, estate planning, trusts, Wills, real estate, and criminal defense.
Mr. Gertz remains active in public service to the City of Reading, having served as Mayor for 12 years, and in the positions of Council-at-Large, City Treasurer and City Service Director. Currently, he is the Councilman for the City of Reading, Ward Two.
He is a member of many religious, civic and charitable organizations, including the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association, the St. Thomas More Law Society of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, the Reading Republican Club, the Reading Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion Post #69, the Reading Eagles Aerie #1095, the Tuition Assistance Program for Catholic Education, the Board of Directors of Sts. Peter & Paul Academy, and a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Catholic parish.
Mr. Gertz and his wife, Mary Jane, reside in Reading and are the proud parents of five children, fifteen grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.
